The iPhone 8 has one major design change from the 7: a glass back, which allowed Apple to introduce wireless charging, but comes at the cost of making the phone seriously more fragile.

That means investing in a decent case is more important than ever, as now it’s not just the screen that you risk cracking if you drop your shiny new phone.

It’s worth noting that the dimensions of the new models are fractionally different to the last generation, so most iPhone 7 cases should fit – but some form-fitting cases might not. Since we don’t have an iPhone 8 in the office yet, we also haven’t tested if any of these cases interfere with wireless charging, but we will do as soon as we can.
